Life With Aidric…
Fast forward from a innocent little boy with an infectious laugh who loves owls, to a 5’10” teenager who alternately loves life and hates life. Sounds typical except this teen still has trouble expressing himself and controlling his behavior. Poor guy is on a rollercoaster as we try new meds to help him focus and additional meds to calm and regulate his behavior. Papa and I are amazed at how much he can eat and how many times he can ask the same question over and over again. We’ve had some rough times lately with his aggressive behavior when he loses total control and punches holes in the walls or doors or we have to physically restrain him… puberty is hitting him hard! In spite of that, we are so proud of how he loves school and is well liked by the staff. He has been attending Camp Idlewild of Florida on the weekend once a month and is loving it! We were brave enough to let him attend weekly camps during the summer and he had an amazing time! At camp he has been performing dance to his favorite cello songs and telling jokes at the camp talent show. It has really given him the opportunity to have fun, feel accepted and it gives us much needed respite. Although the cost is reasonable we would not have been able to afford it if not for the Assistance Fund. As we enter our retirement years and try to adjust to a fixed income, we hope we can continue to meet his needs. We look to the future and pray that with a steady flow of donations, The Aidric Hunt Assistance Fund will help enable this special young man to have a more secure future. We are eternally grateful for your donations.
Thank you! Yaya and Papa Hunt
